~NOTES~

Bellringer Question

0 GMT for London
-4 Santiago
-8 San Francisco

London 9 -----------------------------17
Santiago 5---------------------------- 13
S.F 1 ----------------------------- 9

There is no possible time when they can have a conference call between 9am and 5pm
because of the large time difference.

Temperature Conversions

F= 9/5 C + 32

*We didn't finish discussing Temperature Conversions

QUESTION: How do you read the time zone map in the book?
From left to right or from right to left? Do you have an easier way to reading it?

  2. Does not matter the way you read it... Well sort of. Lets say the GMT is -2 and another is GMT -6. There is a 4 hour distance between both (6-2=4) So Lets say its 9 PM in GMT -2 so in GMT -6 it would be 5 PM since it -6(meaning going back)with the 4 hour distance as i said. Hope this helps =)

  4. okay yara what blanco said is confusing, think of it like this start in L.A and move right each time you add an hour. example in chicago right now is 7:11 pm, but in morocco it is 12:11 am. it doesnt matter if you read it from righ to left or left to right, the important thing is that remember it might be 9/20/2010 here but in morocco for example its already 9/21/2010. ask me in class and i'll explain it more :] hope i helped.

  5. It doesn't really matter from which side you read it. What matters is that you know how much time you have to add or subtract.

just remember the starting time and what ever the map says. for ex: it says -2, just subtract 2 from the original time and u will get the time that you are looking for. its so easy lemon squezzy lol. but if need help let me know :)

  8. you read the line next to it thats closer to the center...so if its on the right side of the map, read the line to the left, and vice versa

  9. You can read it from left or right but you just have to remember how much time you are adding or subtracting so you can get the right answer
